Today’s episode is a quick journey around the world, starting in Japan and working westwards, finally ending in Australia. After hearing music from east Asian cultures of Japan, China, Mongolia, and Indonesia, we listen to music from Tajikstan, Georgia, Zimbabwe, the southern Sahara, and France. Then we move to North America and listen to music by Emil Richards (who recently passed in December 2019) and Harry Partch before finally heading into the Pacific and hearing from the Solomon Islands and Australia.
