LOCAL BOPS EPISODE 019 (10.20.2020)

Local Bops

Anxiety’s a key player in the music of Bad Spy — whether it’s from looming climate catastrophe, the foibles of global politics, this weird Plague Year we’re all living through, or just that gnawing dread humming the background of waking life. That said, in true post-modern fashion, Jack Dougherty has found a way to gleefully groove through it all; it’s why his new EP “Heat Death of the Universe” is so damn good, imho. I chatted with Jack about the release, growing up in the tri-state area in the shadow of September 11th, as well as his new local label Ghostie Recordings — just the type of varied conversation you can expect from this show.
