LOCAL BOPS EPISODE 006 (7.14.2020)
“During quarantine, aren’t all projects bedroom projects?” now ranks as the dumbest interview question I’ve yet to ask a guest on this show, but thankfully bedroom jangle rocker (and all around nice guy) J.W. Francis can roll with the punches. With his debut out this October, he sat down to discuss our changing relationship with the nature of city-living during a pandemic and play a new track. Plus friend-of-the-show and recurring guest HoJun offers critical commentary on the NYT editorial board in the context of his endeavor to learn how to skate.

Edit: My criticism of Captain Beefheart’s “Trout Mask Replica” around minute 38:00 was not expanded on thoroughly, though I was building up to say I think individuals who cite that record as their “favorite” are being a bit ostentatious (don’t @ me please I do like that record I just think it’s become a bit of a musical trope).
